Kool Thing

 Apathy about summer dressing and fashion in general is actually doing something for me. I couldn't be bothered to put on anything more complicated or interesting than this black racerback tank dress, but this is probably my favourite outfit I've worn in a while. I'm all about the weird socks and clunky, thick-soled shoes and things don't need to get much more complicated than that.

Also, my reclaimed inspiration could very well have to do with my incessant viewing of the Sonic Youth music video for Kool Thing.

Rumors of a 'Flash' Movie

With all this superhero, Comic-Con mania, a new player has been lightly mentioned these past few months — The Flash. He is the superhero known in the comic world (and for those of you who remember the details of Catch Me If You Can) as Barry Allen. After a freak accident, Allen gains super speed and becomes The Flash.

If anything is made, the earliest it would come out would be 2013-2014. No one has given the project the green light (not that someone named The Flash would wait for that) and no director has been connected to the film yet. Some blogs have mention Bradley Cooper as a great choice for the lead role. Pictured above with Cooper is the comic book Flash, the Flash from Daddy Day Care and the cast of The Big Bang Theory dressed up as The Flash. Which one would you pick?

'Twixt' Trailer Has Tim Burton Feel

The latest from Francis Ford Coppola is Twixt — a story about a mystery writer who gets sucked into telling the story of a town's mass murder by a ghost of one of the victims. While the "real world" shots seem simple enough, Elle Fanning's character, V, seems, appropriately, as if she is from another world. The world of Tim Burton. Her make up and hairstyle seem very similar to Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

It's hard to grasp a theme from this preview. It doesn't quite seem like a horror film, but it definitely has it's disturbing elements. It's set to come out this year, but no official release date has been announced. What do you think about this trailer?

First 'Dark Knight Rises' Shots and Video

There's a lot of mystery surrounding the much-anticipated Dark Knight sequel. Apart from the cast and supposed plot, little has been revealed about this film. Here are the first images taken while shooting and below is a video of the crew filming one of the fight scenes. These are out a couple weeks after the first teaser trailer was released. The film comes out July 20, 2012. Are you excited?

Guest Blog: On Writer's Block

On Writer's Block...

If you’ve ever had writer’s block then you understand just how frustrating it is.  I’ve been suffering with it big time! So when The Drama Mama asked me to guest post, I was thrilled!  I thought to myself “What a great way to get my MoJo back!”  Not.  I sat down, grabbed a cup of coffee and nothing came.

As I write this, I am 3 days late on the deadline and I’m honestly not even sure she will be able to publish this.  But I’m sure as hell going to try.

It isn’t as if I have nothing to write about.  Oh, the boys give me plenty.  There was a time not so long ago when my blog was becoming quite popular before I dropped of the face of the earth and used the cowardly excuse of being overwhelmed at home when well-meaning bloggers sent emails asking about my sudden absence.

Life with boys is never boring.  The Gremlin is an evil genius.  But his genius will likely go unnoticed in the rock star world he is determined to be a part of.  The Professor is a budding paleontologist with a fall back career of a lawyer.  They give me plenty of writing inspiration and they are the star of both my blog and my heart.  I hope that if you visit me, you’ll see just how much my personal sun rises and sets with the two people who mostly drive me nuts, but sometimes surprise even me with their wit, charm and intelligence.

I wish I could guest post something spectacular that would be shared and tweeted and liked a million times.  I wish I’d sign on tomorrow and find a screaming plethora of fans on my blog.  But the truth is, this post is me desperately trying to overcome writer’s block by doing what everyone keeps telling me to do. Writing.


I’m making a come back.  No seriously, I am.  I am going to blog more often even if I feel like there is nothing to say because blogging makes me feel good.  I love to write.  And despite the fact that I am severely handicapped with writer’s block right now, and seriously hating summer vacation because it’s just too long and we’re all bored out of our skulls at this point, I love to write and my blog matters to me.

I haven’t posted in a while, but The Drama Mama has a few of my favorites.  I hope you’ll enjoy my past writes and visit me again for more. I make a public promise here to blog more often even if I’m still struggling with this block! You all can help me out by commenting, because I do love comments!
