Guest Blog: Divine Secrets of the Chocolaholic

Today begins the first post in my 3 week long series of guest posts. You'll meet many of my favorite bloggers over the next 3 weeks. I'm so excited that they have agreed to guest post for me while the Drama Family moves into our new home.

Please welcome back, Rawkyn Robyn, whose blog Life By Chocolate was the Scoop of the Week on Friday!!

It's an honor to guest post at Drama Mama's site. Thank you, DM! Unlike many of you, I am single (divorced) and without children. That wasn't the plan, but it's my path. So I'm finding my way to create my own fairytale. The prompt I've been given for this post is "divine". I'm not a poet, but I was in a poetic kind of mood. I hope you enjoy this offering, along with all things divine.  xo Robyn of Life by Chocolate

Divinity
A child with a lisp
An awkward first kiss
 Laughter that hurts and
Hiccups in spurts
A teen who's been jilted
A pink rose that's wilted
 An 'ole clunker that runs
Hot dogs without buns
A surgeon who smiles
 A friend who's in need
A spider that scurries
Once it's been freed
A kid who asks "Why?"
 A mommy's bold cry.
The last piece of chocolate
Left in the box

Polka dots and plaid garments
And Tevas with socks.
A Dixie cup filled with low-end red wine
Goosebumps up the arms

What could be more divine?

Divine Secrets

Have you ever seen Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood? Remember that scene when all the kids get sick, and the next morning Vivi gets dressed for church but goes to a hotel room instead, and drinks/sleeps/smokes 2 or 3 days away? I totally understand how she was feeling. Especially after a day like today. (Runaway-Avril Lavigne)

First there was the garage who doesn't do emissions inspections despite that I desperately needed them to because they are the only ones near any sort of entertainment for Scooby Doo (you know because the whole world should be accommodating the moms. We brought them into this world...) Then there was the mom who got all huffy with me because she thought I was disciplining her son, even though it was HER son that hurt my son, and HER son being the bully, while my son was being sweet as could be and trying to get HER son to play with him instead of blocking the door and picking fights with the other kids (I think maybe her mama bear mode was a bit on the heavy side this morning. Maybe she too was having one of THOSE days?). I was seriously proud of Scooby Doo today. Jellybean, on the other hand, was a whole other universe all together.

Jellybean has behavior issues, to put it mildly. Most of the time, she is a good, but typical almost 10 yr old girl. The rest of the time, she puts the Exorcist to shame. Seriously. She has a disorder called ODD, that is combined with ADHD. When she is having a bad night, EVERYONE is having a bad night. And tonight, boy.....I think she was just flat out of her element~full on, head spinning, jell-o spewing demon possessed (but how can you NOT laugh as jell-o comes out her nose?!?). As the night wore on, it just got worse, and worse. (insert head banging wall emoticon here)

Tonight, this mom was glad to send the Drama Queen off to bed. Tonight, this mom was d.o.n.e. done. Tonight is a night for Calgon (and wine. Lots of wine).

But, there's the moment at the very end, when they are ready for bed, that for that one instant, all is forgotten, and you wrap your arms around them, give them a little squeeze, and the giggles that come forth erase everything. Your smile is back on your face, your heart is pounding with joy, and as you close your eyes, your last thought is "Today wasn't so bad after all."

These are the moments I live for. These are the moments that make it ALL worthwhile, even when things seem to be at their worst. This is my life. I shall embrace it.
