Just When I Think I'm King

I've been feeling like a nomad lately, relying on the kindness of other to take my outfit pictures for me.  It's kind of at the point where I want to develop my own language of hobo signs. Today's goth jams were captured at American Apparel before the store opened, thanks to a kind co-worker. I'm loving the sexy slouch of the lace raglan, tucked into my chiffon maxi skirt. It took long enough for me to warm up to maxi skirts, but I'm into them full force right now!

If you haven't noticed I finally changed my blog font to Courier, which is probably the font I most relate to. There are new links to my Sponsor page as well as my writing portfolio, so maybe dig my slang and throw out some dollars?

Oh hey now, this is nuts!

Exciting news, everyone!! American Apparel and Lookbook.nu collaborated on a little booklet on styling AA pieces that will be available for free in AA stores everywhere, and guess who is in it? That's right, folks. Yours truly!! This is crazy exciting and I feel so lucky and flattered to have been chosen. Check it out online, see if you can spot me in the video or try to pick up a hard copy at one of the stores. This is pure funking insanity. Today, American Apparel. Tomorrow, the world!

Christmas is coming early...

OH FATE GODS, YOU SMILE UPON ME

Are you serious? Is American Apparel actually opening a new location a five minute walk from my apartment? PLEASE PINCH ME. No, even better. PLEASE HIRE ME. I am seriously considering attaching this picture to the back of my resume. I know what job I'm aiming for this summer...

This is probably not a big deal for anyone who lives in a major city centre, but I am a hick and the the closest American Apparel location has always been at least one hour away.

Legs

One of my secret loves is getting mail. I used to write all my friends snail mail letters when I was younger, and I still give people hand-written notes whenever it seems appropriate. And honestly, you don't even begin to appreciate mail until you go away to University, where any scrap of mail makes you jump for joy. But wait! This mail tirade is leading somewhere. I recently discovered the joys of online shopping and received this package in the mail on Tuesday. Oh happy joy!

-One pair of white jersey yoga pants
-One black jersey racerback dress
-One pair of tie-dye leggings (!)
-One cream jersey drape skirt

That's a lot of jersey.

I couldn't wait and wore the drape skirt to work yesterday! The polka dots, drapey-ness and the flat men's oxford brogues make for a sort of "smart, sensible girl whose notes you want to copy in class" sort of look. At least that's what I was going for. Art imitating life, perhaps?
