Halloweek

Here's hoping you all had a radical Halloween weekend, full of candy puke and silly costumes. For some reason, these heinous Levis thrifted mom jeans are really appealing to my sensibilities. I wear them with everything, going for the super grunge look with my new Graham + Spencer knit sweater. It looks like the sweater I knit, except no effort was put into it. Worn with thrifted granny shoes and an American Apparel twist scarf on my head.

It should come as no surprise that for Halloween I dressed up as the heroic movie character Terry, from Fubar (and Fubar II)!! I found everything in my closet, drew on fake sideburns and acted obnoxiously dumb all night. IT was the first time I have actually dared venture out of the house in sweatpants. All in the name of Halloween!

Wordless Wednesday: Goth & Gotham

Being Spidey's mom, in cahoots with a dark angel, ain't as easy as it looks.

For more Wordless/Wordful Wednesday:

Don't forget to leave a comment full of poop for a chance to win a $25 Starbucks gift card, and a week sitting at the top of my blog for all of blogland to see (and drool over).

Happy Wednesday y'all!

Long, Long, Long

So the entire week before Halloween is officially "dress-up in costume" at American Apparel. Can you guess what I went as?

YUP. A goth. There was black lipstick involved. Let's just say it's really a good thing I didn't throw out that pyramid stud cuff leftover from my grade nine mall punk days. I also don't own a crucifix necklace, so I went with a Star of David in keeping with the 'subversive religiosity' theme.

Everyone else had the cutest costumes on Monday, so I am sharing some of my favourites.

Jenn as Snow White

Raena as the Tooth Fairy

Joel as a Sea Captain (note the corn cob pipe)

Cass as Tinkerbell

California Dreamin'

Ugh, for some reason whenever the weather turns cold I lack the simple ability to get out of bed - much less put together a decent outfit! I always end up reaching for this huge circular pullover because its so cozy on the inside and I can snuggle up inside it because I'm pretty much wearing a blanket. Tried to make up for it by wearing my classy high-heeled Doc Marten's to school for the first time.

At least it's Hallowe'en season, so I can find cheap, stupid and amazing gloves at the dollar store!!

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot about this whole wearing purple business in solidarity with LGBT rights. Represent tolerance... And Black Flag!
