I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on Saturday, and dressed up like a true fan. The lace cape, large frames and eyeliner scar are a weird combination of Bellatrix Lestrange, Sybil Trelawney and Harry himself. Of course, I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone but 2 hours felt too short! Like a true addict, I just cannot get enough Harry Potter. It's so tragic to have grown up with the series, and now experience it coming to an end.
Look at how adorable these kids used to be.
Now, HOT DAMN!!

Knight Bus
Greetings from the real big city of Vancouver, BC! In my absence from the internet, I wore only tie-dye for two weeks, paddled a canoe for five days, ate way too much hummus and fell in love with Hazards of Love by The Decemberists. This ridiculous outfit was thrifted entirely in the Okanagan Valley, more specifically Penticton, BC. The old ladies running the store went wild when they saw me trying on the shirt, they absolutely loved it and used the word "zazzy." According to the label its an original "Western Collection Styles" and I like to imagine the previous owner travelled around in horse shows and excelled at barrel jumping in this lacey fringe number.
Let me tell you, West Coast thrifting is damn good. I have a few unbelievably ridiculous finds that I will reveal at a later date!
All my fellow Potter-ites will be excited to hear that I rode the Knight bus to downtown Vancouver. Need photographic evidence? Look no further.

My Ears Hurt
Thanks wind, for ruining any semblance of a good outfit photo I had going on today. Kind of going for a granny-preppy look going on with the tea-length skirt (is that even a real fashion term, or did I just make that up?) and grey wool cable-knit sweater that belonged to my mom in the '80s. I originally tried it on with my black Doc Martens, but it just wasn't working out so I switched to these little thrifted cowboy ankle booties. Oh jeez, look out for that gust!!!
Photobooth outfit shots too, because the wind is a total outfit-ruiner. Going to see Harry Potter tonight, finally (it's cheap ticket night at the theatre). Excitement is running high!

In Your Head
I had the craziest day, going to see the Harry Potter exhibit at the Ontario Science Centre today! The exhibit featured mostly costumes and props used in the movies, and recreations of some of the sets. It was badass, but I love Harry Potter so much that it probably could have sucked and I still would have enjoyed myself. Of course, I ended up wearing my Harry Potter shirt, paired with navy shorts, Doc Martens and leopard print tights for that feline touch. Have a good one, I hope everyone's summer is shaping up to be awesome!

PS - I listed some stuff on eBay for lower prices. Check it out. Haggle me. Whatever.

I need to stop spending money on clothes and start saving money so I can go to Australia and the Harry Potter theme park.

My Velouria
Hey, it's my day off - I figured I might as well dress outrageously as possible while I've got the chance! We had a ripping thunderstorm today and our power went out for a couple hours, so I shacked up with some blankets and read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The movie may have been epic, but nothing really compares to the books.

Binomial Distributions
I adore Harry Potter books enough to wear this shirt with pride. When I turned 11 and realized I wasn't a Witch, I was pretty much heartbroken. Nowadays, I just enjoy rereading the books and pretending I'm a character. At the lunch table today, everyone decided that ff I was a Professor in Harry Potter, I would teach Herbology or History of Magic and if I were a student, I would be in Ravenclaw (who has a secret crush on Ron Weasley).
