Runny Nose

So, ummm, don't kill me here - but am I the only singular soul out there who completely hates these Ashish for Topshop leopard shoes? I usually love leopard print, but this stuff is just cartoon-ish. And the shape looks like some kind of awful joke. They're not elegant at all! I'm clearly missing out on something, because for the life of me I just fail to understand what everyone finds so alluring about these goddamn shoes.

With holy fingers

I rediscovered this dress in my closet last night and even though I love it, it never get worn because the buttons have a dirty habit of popping open and the last buttonhole ends a little too soon for my liking. I guess I just don't like to wear things that involve me risking indecent exposure. So, I was a good "recessionista" (lame term, I know) and attacked it with a needle and thread, adding larger buttons and sewing up the bottom. BAM, now it's wearable!

My Top 5 List of Current Trends I Would Not Touch With A Ten Foot Pole

1. Excessive studding. This d-bag is probably walking around thinking he's cutting edge, but he actually just killed anything I ever liked about studs. The madness needs to end somewhere!
2. Harnesses
3. Crop Tops
4. Lace Bell Bottoms
5. Maxi skirts (not because I particularly hate them, I'm just too short to look any good in them)

the magician reveals his secrets

Somebody induct me into the hippie club right here right now. It was a lounge around Sunday, so you'd best believe I'd put on the most soft, warm and comfy sweater I own!

So, this is a non-windy picture of the haircut I've been loathe to make public. I clearly asked the hairdresser to take of 2 inches in the back and 1 inch in the front, and she went and did the exact opposite of what I wanted. I can't stand my hair when its longer in the back than the front because then it looks like I have a stoopid mullet. Luckily, I've discovered that it doesn't look so bad when I part it way to the side, Alice Dellal-style, which I will most definitely be doing until this bloody mop grows out.

I wore this today to my first day of work. I'm rocking my new 50-cent skirt, and my mom's old brogues. Jeez, I've only been searching desperately in vain for the perfect pair of brogues for, oh, about a YEAR now while apparently this pair was tucked away in my mom's closet the whole time! Crikey...

Learn

I may not be Nelly but I think that band-aids make sort of a cool accessory - especially in bright colours. Beware the perils of office work...deep papercuts! Thanks goodness bright band-aids and Revlon Red are a match made in heaven.

I suppose I should be doing some sort of 'year-in-review' post, right? 2008 was a year of new beginnings, like how I left home to go to University and the States got a President that actually knows what he's doing. It was really high time for both of those things to happen.

Speaking of Presidents, I am quite flattered that no less than three former US Presidents (Richard Nixon, Abe Lincoln and George Washington) took the time out of their busy schedules to comment on my last post. I am much obliged, gentleman. You readers are excellent. Even the anonymous who thought it was sad how I have no style and am ugly. You know what is sad? Anonymous hate comments. Please send your bleeding heart sympathy to someone who actually needs it, like cancer victims or refugees. In a fucked up world like this, ugly people like moi should be the last of your worries.

Love to everyone, see you next year.

P.S. -In my opinion, the worst Top 40 Song of 2008 is by far 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz. His earnest warbling makes my ears bleed in a very bad way.
