What is the difference between leopard print an cheetah print? I often hear the terms 'leopard' and 'cheetah' used interchangeably to describe my outfits on multiple occasions. But don't get lazy and fall into the trap of animal nonrecognition!
Leopards have uneven rosette-shaped spots.
Cheetahs have solid colour polka dot spots.
People who get it wrong time after time make me feel like this.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask this guy.

Give 'Em Whiplash
So after a week of lovely Spring weather, Mother Nature Satan Beast has cursed the Waterloo region once again with subzero temperatures and snowy blizzards that don't come from Dairy Queen. Of course, I had completely forgotten how to dress for winter in that intermittent period of sun. I put on my oversize forest green cocoon sweater and was unhappy with how it looked until I had the genius idea of pairing it with... leopard print! There is just something about shirts with collars and jazzy prints that turn gross slobby outfits into things of beauty.
Also, I got a new pair of frames courtesy of American Apparel. What do you think? I'm not sure they'll replace my Burberry frames as everyday glasses but they sure are awesome for 1960s dress-up parties, and whenever I want to feel like a vintage postcard.

Blank Generation
It has been nigh impossible to take outfit photos lately because of this massive bank of snow!! Also, my winter outfits have been suffering because I have to wear huge snow boots everywhere, and nobody wants to se pictures of those! Luckily, I have my thermal sock Cougar boots for those days when slush puddles are ankle deep. Eww. Going for a simple, lazy look today with taupe riding pants and a black turtleneck, both from American Apparel.
See how much happier I look with a coat on??

Pleiades
Aaaaand I'm off to Ottawa for the weekend! Going to see extended family, visit the Museum of Natural History, watch Arrested Development, be a general hell-raiser etc. The minimal wardrobe I packed is very Goth Jams: Sparkle Edition. I'm really in love with my American Apparel sweater dress, vintage leopard collar and thrifted Doc Martens.

Derailed
This leopard print shirt is probably big enough to fit three of me inside - imagine the trouble the last time i wore it, tucked into pants! Today I'm letting it all hang loose, with a little help from my friend the waist belt. Confession: I was going to wear this outfit with my croc Docs so I could be super down with the animal kingdom, but for the first time in my life I thought Doc Martens looked weird with the outfit. I think I need to go to boot rehab.

Free of Suggestion
Dressed according to a 'feline grandma' theme today. I found the leopard print top on the stinky racks of a thrift store's half off day, meaning it only cost me four bones! The grandpa pants are perpetually awesome and the new vintage brogues on my feet are glorious serendipity.
Remember these black leather brogues I thrifted ages ago?
I still love them, but they were just a bit too wide for my feet and so I traded them with a co-worker for these ones. It's always such a great feeling when an item of clothing finds its perfect home.

I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.
It's starting to look like Spring is here! What a marvelous day, I went outside without wearing my winter coat, a scarf or gloves and didn't die of hypothermia! The leopard coat is my favourite item of clothing that I own, hands down, and I find a way to style it differently every year. I got the beret as a birthday present from my Grandma last year - wasn't sure of it at the time but it's really growing on me! Sorry if this is all incoherent, I am in the throes of a beautiful weather/sushi coma right now and it is wonderful.
