Thanks to youtube video tutorials, I have discovered that my new favourite hairstyle is: MILKMAID BRAIDS. After I saw them on Tavi, I had to try them and figured my hair was finally long enough. Excellent. My feelings on life, pictured below.

Anyways, I know this is a bit late but I've spent some time reflecting on the Black Friday weekend and just what it means to people etc. In commemoration of the human element of Black Friday, I wrote an article called 'On Buy Nothing Day' that you probably want to read. Earlier this year, I did a book review of Obsessive Consumption by Kate Bingaman-Burt that is also of pertinent interest.

Last Week's Fact or Fiction

1. My first story ever written was about a peanut.
True. It was inspired the dancing Mr. Peanut guy from Planters. I don't remember what it was about anymore, but I do remember that my teacher was wowed by it.

2. I was in 4th grade when I wrote my story.
False. I was in 2nd grade when I wrote the story, and my teacher was wowed that it was so detailed.

3. I have never won a writing contest.
True. I have never won a writing contest, but not for lack of trying. I did take 1st place in 6th grade at regionals in ODACS competition which was as far as an elementary student could go (for the purposes of the competition, 7-9th grade was jr high, and you went as far as state if you won at regionals) with a story about penguins; then again in 10th grade, where I went on to the state competition and took 4th place.

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street Remake

It seems remakes are in season this year. The 1987 hit T.V. show 21 Jump Street starring Johnny Depp is being remade by Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller and Jonah Hill. Tatum will play Hill's cop partner. Filming is set to start next year. The basic premise is the same. The film is set to come out March 16, 2012.

Joss Whedon Will NOT Direct 'Buffy' Remake!

It's official, Joss Whedon, director of both the Buffy the Vampire Slayer original movie and television series, won't be working on the remake. According to Empire Online, Whedon was approached last year after Fran Rubel Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui began developing the film. He claimed it was in order to work on his Marvel film, Avengers. However, he also said that it was painful to see Buffy in other hands. Well, Joss buddy, maybe you should have accepted the offer! No news yet on plot details or a cast, but I'm sure there's more to come!
