My God is an awesome God. He, in His perfect holiness, created me. My life hasn't been perfect. There have been many tests and trials along the way. These tests and trials have molded me into the woman I am today.
Today, I celebrate my risen Savior. His name is Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God, one of the deities of the Holy Trinity. He is the promise that God made to Moses and all of His believers. They prophesied of His coming, and His death. They prophesied that He would rise again. And He did. He did all that for me. Because He loves me so much, He sent His only Son. His perfect Son. And His Son, well, He died for me. HE DIED FOR ME!!! Wow. That's big.
Today, I think about a story that I heard once. It goes something like this:
Imagine the whole world is sick. There's no antidote for this sickness, and everyone is dying. The call goes out to the world for any healthy people to come donate blood so they can test it to find a cure.
You hear the call. Your only child has been lucky enough to not get sick. You bring him to the local hospital and let them draw some blood. You go on about your way. You go home, eat dinner, tuck your child in to bed, read him a bedtime story. You do all the things you normally would do. You pray for the healing of the world before you go to sleep.
The next morning, you get a phone call. You are asked to bring your child back to the hospital. When you arrive, you are taken into a private room. There, they tell you what you don't want to hear. Your only child, your sole heir, has the power to heal the world. The problem is, he would have to die in order to do it.
Could you give your child's life for the rest of the world? Could you? I don't think I could. I would rather die myself. In fact, I'm pretty positive that I wouldn't do it. But see, God did. He loved me enough to give His only Son's life so that I could live.
You can't beat that. That, my friends, is love.
I wish you all a happy and blessed Easter.
