The Outrageous Day of Adventure!

After a long morning busride spent reading an essay called "Cotton Candy Autopsy: Deconstructing Psycho-Killer Clowns", I arrived in Toronto to meet my destiny. My "destiny" is actually named Tavi Gevinson and as I'm sure you all know, she is the most most articulate blue-haired teenager in the blogosphere. For the record, I've been blogging since 2006 and I remember when Tavi started writing Style Rookie, it was the freshest blog out there. I watched Tavi grow from a pre-teen into an icon, so I can honestly say that it was beyond amazing to meet my hero.

After doing a bit of shopping, I made my way over to the Worn Fashion Journal office for the first time. The 'office' is more like a hip loft bedroom stacked with amazing books on fashion and pop culture. I plan to model all my future living arrangements after the interior decorating in that place. Tavi met us at Worn, and Anna and I had the pleasure of showing Tavi around the grand city of Toronto. First we visited Kensington Market and poked around some of the vintage stores and book stores, where I encountered "Barf Manifesto".

Of course, we took some obligatory outfit shots! I was so jealous of Tavi's galactic skirt - it is by some foreign designer with an unpronounceable name.

We also took Tavi to some quintessential 'Canadian' spots, like Honest Ed's (the bargain store that spans an entire city block) and TIM HORTONS! Nothing speaks to Canadians (and police officers) like coffee and donuts.

All in all I had the most fantastic day, with the most spectacular people. I love you guys! Oh, and I saw a girl dressed up like a not-so-Gothic Lolita while waiting for the bus home so I took her picture.
