New Harry Potter Interviews With Most of the Cast

I don't intend on placing any scenes from the last movie on this blog. I won't watch them and I don't appreciate the fact that they've been released. If you're interested in viewing them, they're easily found on YouTube. I personally want to be completely surprised when I see the film. The photos and trailers that have been released are more than enough to sustain me for now. But here are some great interviews with key cast members about the ending of the series. The last clip is behind the scenes of the filming, but there is some spoiler material so proceed with caution. July 15. It all ends.

Stars Discuss Love of Harry Potter Series: Russell Brand, Tom Hanks, Etc.

Well, here we are. One week before American audiences will be lining up outside the theaters waiting for the midnight premiere of the final Harry Potter film. In celebration, I'm going to try to have at least one blog post every day leading up to the film about Harry Potter. Today's video was found by my good friend Mary Claire. A true Harry Potter fan, Mary Claire and I share the same obsession and useless fact base when it comes to the boy who lived. While she is more of a Gryffindor and I'm a Slythenclaw, we still are able to enjoy our differences.

My favorite quote from this video comes from Russell Brand. The ever humorous British comedian seems to think rather highly of the series.

"The books, kids love them," he said. "Then there's that lovely lad, Radcliffe, I like him. And the ginger one, I like him."

Check out the video below and let me know if there's anything you'd like to read about or see before the eighth film comes out.

'The Iron Lady' Teaser Trailer

After reporting in February on Meryl Streep's first photos as Margaret Thatcher, producers have just released a teaser trailer for her film The Iron Lady. Thatcher was Britain's Prime Minister in the '80s and was definitely NOT beloved. Hopefully this film, that's already being cited as a potential Oscar contender, will show a very realistic look into Ms. Thatcher's life. While we all know that Streep plays evil well, I still find it hard to hate her. The film is set to come out on December 16 in the U.S. Will you go see it?

This Is Gonna Date Me But...

Before I had a computer, there was television. In fact, before I was born, I think I was watching tv from inside my mother's womb. I knew what I liked, and I missed them when they went off. Sometimes I'd love to see them make a come back, and other times I know they wouldn't be the same with different people playing the same characters. Even the remakes of old movies, I am usually disappointed with. I'm begrudging of my memories, and of the camp that believes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

That being said, here is a list of 10 shows I would love to see again, in no particular order:
  1. Little House on the Prairie. There isn't anything like Pa and Half Pint with her buck teeth, and little Carrie taking a tumbling down the hill.
  2. The Land of the Lost. Now who wouldn't want a Sleestack on their tail to get their morning started?
  3. Charlie's Angels. We should all aspire to be Angels when we grow up, now shouldn't we?
  4. Charmed. The world hasn't been safe since they went off the air.
  5. Creepshow. I don't know about you, but that little dead guy, the Cryptkeeper, generally made me laugh, as did the stories on the show.
  6. Get Smart. Man I loved that show. I always dreamed of being Agent 99 one day. I'm still dreaming of being Agent 99 one day...
  7. Roseanne. She was a great reminder that there really are mothers worse than you out there.
  8. The Golden Girls. 4 old Bittys and the glorious Betty White.
  9. Happy Days. Fonzi Need I say more?
  10. Family Ties. Alex P. Keaton, Sit Ubu Sit, and Mallory's hot biker boyfriend.
Will we ever see these shows again? Could they make a comeback in today's society?

Mama’s Losin’ It

I chose the 1st prompt: A list of 10 old TV shows you'd like to make a comeback.

What's your list?

'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' in the Works

I just don’t get it. The first movie was great. Numbers two and three were horrible. And while the fourth installment that came out this summer was a little bit better, it was a C- at best. So why bring back Captain Jack Sparrow and his motley crew for another Pirates of the Caribbean film? Apparently On Stranger Tides, which came out this summer, has just reached its $1 billion mark. That just blows my mind.

I don’t really understand why people, many of whom have told me they don’t like any Pirates movies besides the first one, continue to go see them. When my boyfriend Caleb admitted an interest in seeing the fourth film after I panned it, I questioned his logic.

“I like the character of Jack Sparrow so much that I don’t really care if the story’s good,” he said.

And there you have it. Johnny Depp is an excellent actor. He is one of few men that look good in eyeliner and his off-putting mannerisms provide a nice humor. Who cares if you haven’t been able to follow the plot since the first one? Why should it matter that unnecessary characters keep popping up? Apparently the strong, personality-filled characters established in the first film are enough to sustain the franchise through yet another trip on the high seas.

I can hardly blame the producers — the film is making a fortune. Instead I blame the public.
