Like any family, we have our good days and our bad days. Lately, it's been more of "those days" than the good days, but we are going through teething hell. I say we, because it's BOTH of them. Jellybean, always ahead of the game, is cutting her 12 year molars, and Scooby, poor thing, is cutting his 2 year molars. I am very lucky right now to get 2 solid hours of sleep straight in a row. This means I am less than my best as well (and drowning myself in Sour Cream & Onion potato chips, this months insatiable craving).
When it's all said and done though, it's not hard to find reminders of why I love being a mom and wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world.
5. It's constant laughter.
4. Every day brings a new learning experience, especially from Scooby's perspective.
3. I can talk to myself in the car and not look like a crazed loser.
2. Hugs, lots and lots of hugs. And goodnight kisses.
But the number one reason I love being a mom?
"Lubbalubbablublala" in high crescendos and low basstones. Rinse, repeat. The sheer joy of flicking your tongue vertically from lip to lip as fast as you can while making lots and lots of
noise songs without words. Then watching your 2.5 yr old mimic you, and falling on the floor together in a fit of giggles.
You just can't beat that.
What things remind you of why you love being a mom?
(Make sure you swing by on Monday and leave lots of love for my guest blogger!!)
