Pretty in Pink!

Last night for the first time in my pathetic life I watched the 1986 John Hughes classic Pretty in Pink. I won't bang on about how lame the plot was (seriously, I'm too old to care about people's high school problems), but I will say that it was an overall visual feast. Molly Ringwald's character Andie is a semi-loveable oddball who knows her way around a thrift store and a sewing machine. As you are about to tell, I went a little trigger-happy with screen captures this time.

Pixie boots and floral socks. Yes.

Nice granny glasses you got there.

How come every cool person in the history of the Earth has worked at a record store?

Girl rocks the floral patterns like no other!

I wish I looked this good while doing homework.

Seriously, who is responsible for this masterful work of interior decorating?

Don't think I missed out on all those clever nods to the Smiths!

Note the leopard print couch.

The epic pink prom dress in construction, and in action.

And of course, it would be futile to not mention Andie's best friend (who she treats like crap) Duckie! This guy is the male equivalent of Andie's wacky style sense and can call me any day. Just look at those plaid pants.
