Can You Hear Me Now?

Words unheard
Gaps like the yawning earth
Misunderstood becomes the daily norm.

Eye rolls
Comments that chop through the soul
Loneliness abounds.

Unnatural sounds
Noise recycled like a siphoned fish tank
Frustration exists.

Homonym confusion
Elementary means gain clarity
Deafness is not stupidity.

Show, don't tell
Text, don't call.
Remembering means the world to me.

P or C or T? 2 or 3?
Can you hear me now?
No, I probably won't, even if you spell it out.

No insurance coverage
Ears aren't as important as eyes
Words make the world go 'round.

Money spent
Can you hear me now?
Yes, but still please spell it out.

I am severely hearing impaired. This has impacted all aspects of my life.

I wear a hearing aid in my left ear. I cannot hold long telephone conversations.

I tend to avoid get togethers and playdates with more than one parent.

I am a social butterfly with clipped wings.

Did you know that there is no insurance company that will cover the cost of hearing aids, not even partially?
