Anthony Hopkins to star in new Hitchcock biopic?
Before you get too excited (like I did), nothing is official yet. Director Sasha Gervasi (who wrote The Terminal) is set to direct the biopic on the auteur's life. The story is supposed to follow the life of Hitchcock while he is filming Psycho and is based off the non-fiction book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. The movie will also focus on the relationship between Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville. Ryan Murphy (director of Glee) had a similar idea several years ago and at the time Anthony Hopkins was set to play Hitchcock and Helen Mirren was supposed play Reville. According to Total Film magazine there are some rumors that Anthony Hopkins is considering the role, but no word on Mirren. I'll keep you posted.
