Director Paul Feig Discusses 'Bridesmaids 2' Possibility

I really like the way he discusses approaching this sequel. Nothing is official or even in the works yet, but due to the film's success, it's only natural in these times (see Hangover & Transformers 2,3,4,90) that a sequel is considered.

After discussing the possibility of making a Bridget Jones's Diary 3 earlier this month, director Paul Feig is now talking about a Bridesmaids 2.

Here's what he had to say about the matter:
“There’s nothing officially in the works right now, but we’re all open to it in a way. We just have to figure out a way to make it right.” “The minute you make a movie that does very well, studios want to do another one. But speaking for all of us, we would only want to do it if we knew it would be as good or better than the first one. None of us want to just do the thing to make a lot of money and ruin the memory of the first one.”

“We have to have a real story that doesn’t have any moments where people say, okay, that’s fake or that’s dumb, or anything that puts people off. That’s always where too many comedies fall apart, there’s always some moment where, to get the joke across, they go to big or too broad.”

I think it could be funny if Kristen Wiig's character ends up marrying the cop, played by Chris O'Dowd and the girls get back together to celebrate that. I think there should be more back story between Rita and Becca, the two most opposite bridesmaids and there, of course, should be endless scenes with Melissa McCarthy who played Megan.

What do you think? Would you go see a Bridesmaids sequel?
