Ain't Had No Fun

Today I'm testing out the romantic semi-gothic Lula Magazine sort of look. I have to say, for the most part I'm a total comfort bum* so its nice to just 'dress up' one in a while.

Yesterday I made a 'found object art' sort of necklace. The zipper pull and the buckle are two items that I literally picked up off the ground and added to the necklace. I like how random the necklace is, but it still has a story.

*Wen I say bum, I mean it. On the days I don't do outfit posts, I'm generally lazing around unabashedly in sweats.

P.S. -This is killer random, but I must tell everyone that in the cafeteria a few days ago I saw a girl slather her hot dog in ranch dressing and egg salad. Does anyone else out there do this? Because I was really weirded out and want to know if that is a taste sensation that anyone else has tried.

Angela Chase

So I was kind of wasting time yesterday when I realized that there was a lot of 90s tv shows that I was interested in watching but never had, like Twin Peaks, Clarissa Explains It All and My So-Called Life. I managed to find the first two episodes of My So-Called Life in full on youtube (I just finished watching episodes 3 and four in parts) and I have to say that I've developed a minor obsession. Clair Danes as Angela Chase is fantastically relatable not to mention her wardrobe of plaid dresses and oversize shirts is pretty much wonderful. Not to mention Jared Leto as the titular love interest? Be still my beating heart. It's practically a crime that it only ran for one season.

Oh, and you know what else is great about the 90s? Kate Moss's first magazine cover when she was 16! How positively adorable could she get?

Instant karma's gonna get you.

I've been obsessed with bleached-out jeans ever since I saw Ali Michael wearing a pair of Habituals in Teen Vogue ages ago. Now I'm excited to experiment with my own DIY pair! Even though I think they could be dressed up quite nicely with perhaps some sequins, I decided to go the casual route with an old sweatshirt and a scarf I knit was I was 10. Don't ask me what Dragon Squadron is supposed to be, I just like the sweater.

Whenever I get bored, I draw stuff that doesn't make sense. Case in point: jaws!

I have no idea why I just posted that picture. I also have no idea why I get so much sick gratification out of watching clips of the Maury Show on youtube. There's no way those stories are real. "Sex for a double cheeseburger?"

I am occasionally capable of excellence.

Today is a leopard/ruffles kind of day. Yes its a little ridiculous, but who doesn't enjoy being a little ridiculous once in a while? Plus, I'm having a mini-ruffle shirt rivalry with one of my friends and am hoping this Seinfeld-esquw 'puffy shirt' number will give me a one up. Not to mention, I buttoned up my cardigan wrong (oops!) but it ended up looking a little bit Comme des Garcon/H&M. At least in my delusional mind.

P.S. -Guess who did a little bleach DIY? Can't wait to wear these babies out.

P.P.S. -Don't expect to se one of those "omfg-shredded-tee" shirts on here any time soon. I really can't comprehend the appeal of that DIY.

So basically...

...Lookbook.nu is the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I love how you can keep scrolling down forever and the pictures never stop being fabulous.

In other news, I want to buy everything on Maki Maki Vintage's eBay store. She might be the most exciting stylist ever. Just look how she is rocking those latex leggings!

Sorry for the lengthy post interlude. I went home and dial-up internet was too depressing for me to even try and use. Which is funny since I've written the blog on dial-up internet from its inception to early September. I've become so used to high-speed I can hardly bear to use dial up any more.

Aristotle vs. Darwin: Its on!

You know when people say 'feel the burn'? I feel like that really applies to me, and not just because I'm wearing latex leggings. More or less because exams are in 3 weeks! I probably shouldn't be stressed yet, but I am. Please excuse me while I hole myself up in the library.

P.S. I had this terrible dream, it was that my train home left at 4:45 am. Childhood nightmares tend to involve scary monsters and super creeps. University nightmares involve missing sleep...

P.P.S. Video blog!
