Michael Caine's Answer the to ending of Inception

In a recent interview with BBC RADIO Michael Caine gave his interpretation of the ending to Inception.

As he sees it, the end of the movie isn’t just a dream. “[The spinning top] drops at the end, that’s when I come back on,” Caine said. “If I’m there it’s real, because I’m never in the dream. I’m the guy who invented the dream.”

Hmmm...interesting Michael. Unfortunately my mind is already too blown to understand any further

interpretations of this one.

The Wine Tree by Kendall LeCompte

Inspired by the mighty Sequoia, the Wine Tree by Kendall LeCompte is for the true wine connoisseur. Experts differ in opinion on how one should store wine but you can’t go wrong with this. Just look how elegant and compact it is. The smaller version holds 10 bottles and the bigger one takes 17. Not a wino? There’s a mini version too that holds 7 bottles.

Mama's Losin' It

Ode to Fall

Crisp, spicy scents in the air
Chilly mornings, warm afternoons
Hearth fires creating black swirls in the sky
Painting the world in hues of red, yellow, and gold extraordinaire.

Witches, goblins, and costume play
Back to school, sunflowers, mini scarecrows
Hands clasped in thankful togetherness over prayer
Dance classes and Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Football, tailgates, and warm apple pie
Christmas shopping, and visits with Claus
Pumpkin patch treasures, buckets filled to the brim
Days of harvest that fly right by.

Three cheers I give to the coming of Fall
Goodbye to sweet Summer, Not Yet to Jack Frost
These are just a few reasons why
You are the best season of all.

Prompt #5: 10 reasons why you’re glad it’s Fall. (okay, I went overboard...)

2. My favorite cereal is Froot Loops.
FALSE. Nancy C., Mommakiss, and gringationcancun were correct. While I enjoy Froot Loops from time to time, it's not my favorite cereal. It is Scooby's current favorite, though.

3. My favorite ice cream flavor is Ben & Jerry's Coconut Seven Layer Bar.
TRUE. I do love coconut that much. If you have not tried this, you need to run down to your local Ben & Jerry's and try it, Right now. I'm telling you, it's THAT delicious. Who could resist coconut ice cream with coconut & fudge flakes, walnuts & swirls of graham cracker & butterscotch....

New Harry Potter Posters!

Odessa

I tried taking a decent outfit photo this morning but ended up just looking like a bottom-heavy Triceratops, which is NOT the way I would like strangers on the internet to view me as (though if anyone wants to try out a clever photoshop I wouldn't mind). The only clear solution is Mac Photobooth, where I always end up liking how grainy the photos look.

Been wearing my hair in a loose french braid these days. It gives me an ironic rat-tail.

Velvet Comme des Garcons top worn with awful cutoff jean shorts that I've had since I was 14. Love that high-low juxtaposition.

Not to forget my evil pointy witch boots! These ain't Glinda's boots, and the next you see me wearing them I'll have my face painted green, cackling jibberish about your dog.

Britney Spears v. Lea Michele

From last night's episode of "Glee" check out the comparison of these two "Hit Me Baby One More Time" videos! It was probably the only Britney song I actually enjoyed. Let me know what you think!

Also, this is the 100th post! Thanks for following guys :)

Steve Carell to Star in "Of All the Things"

Steve Carell has signed on to produce and star in the Warner Bros. feature film adaptation of the 2008 music documentary, Of All the Things. Carell will play the singer, songwriter, Dennis Lambert, who was known from songs such as "Baby Come Back," "Rhinestone Cowboy" and "Ain't No Woman Like the One I Got." While I don't know how his singing voice will be, I do know that Carell is an excellent rapper.

Star Wars in 3-D

According to Variety magazine, all six Star Wars movies will be re-released in theaters in 3-D. The first film to hit theaters will be Episode I: The Phantom Menace sometime in 2012. George Lucas says that he will not further enhance any of the visual effects like he did in 1997.

Mad Men's Jared Harris has been cast to play Professor Moriarty in the Sherlock Holmes sequel. Robert Downy Jr. and Jude Law will return as Holmes and Watson and Noomi Rapace from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo will play the female lead. The film is set to hit theaters December 16, 2011.

Tarantino's Editor, Sally Menke dies at 56

Sally Menke, the only person Tarantino allowed to cut any of his films was found dead today. No cause of death has been reported, but she was hiking with her dog during an extremely hot morning in Los Angeles. Tarantino was very close with Menke and created "Hi Sally" reels where at the start of a cut, the actors or even the director would say hello to Sally so she could see the message when she went to edit the film. Their last project together was Inglourious Basterds.

Everyone needs a bit of a colour boost on rainy days, so I went for the obvious styling choice with my tie-dye leggings and 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat' sweatshirt. Here's hoping it makes somebody smile. These past few days I've been contemplating my relationship to feminism, getting lost in the dark and watching a lot of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'.

Twilight Updates: Mackenzie Foy and Maggie Grace

I want to make this clear: I am NOT a "Twihard." Yes I have seen two Twilight movies, but no, I did not see them at midnight. It's the job of this blog to keep everyone informed of the latest entertainment news, so it has just been announced that actress Maggie Grace has signed on to play Breaking Dawn's character Irina and 9-year-old Mackenzie Foy is playing Renesmee, Edward and Bella's vampire love child thing. I don't know these characters, but I'm sure most of you out there do.

Gloria Stuart, 'Titanic,' dies at 100

Ok, so I know it's been heavy on Titanic related things recently, but I just had to announce that Gloria Stuart (who played the grown-up Rose in Titanic) passed away on Sept. 26 from lung cancer. She was 100-years-old.

Kate Winslet to Star in Roman Polanski Film

Funny I just posted about Kate and Leo, because she has just accepted a role in Roman Polanski's "comeback film" God of Carnage, based off the hit Broadway play that closed June 27, 2010.

The film is also rumored to have a star-studded cast of Jodie Foster, Matt Damon and Christoph Waltz. It's supposed to be set in New York City, but will be filmed in Paris because Polanski banned from America.

BSOW: (Semi) Slacking through Motherhood

It's Monday, and as promised, now that Blogger is behaving (knock on wood), I am so pleased to share my ice cream this week. I absolutely adore this blogger. I discovered her through Things I Can't Say's BFF meme and it was like an instant attraction. She is like my long lost twin blog sister.

From the moment I opened her page and read her disclaimer "If something you read doesn't sound right, I reserve the right to plead insanity" I just knew we were destined to be BBFs (best blog friends). From her 100 Things about her and her crew, to competing to be the Not Mom of the Year, and the fact that she has not 1 but 9 Little Black Dresses makes her this week's Best Scoop of the Week.

Confessions of a Semi-Slacker Mom

Please give a warm welcome to my BBF, Semi-Slacker Mom, from Confessions of a Semi-Slacker Mom. She is guest posting today. See what she has to say about "fear" and "laughter"....

****************************
When The Drama Mama asked me to write a post using the words fear & laughter, I knew exactly what I would write.

Until a few months ago, my 5 year old son, Bo had somewhat of a fear of laughter. Well not so much laughter, but the fear of being laughed at.  I think it all kind of stemmed from his older sister, Sassy (9) making fun of something he did, but then it became 'I don't want to (wear this shirt, do my presentation, various other things) because they (who ever they might be) will laugh at me'.  Let me just say, that I can assure you & him that the only person that may laugh at him would be his sisters. And for that I apologize.

As I thought about this, don't we all have a fear of laughter?  I know we all can remember a time in childhood (or adulthood) when we were afraid of being laughed at.  Contrary to the vibe you may be getting from this deep post, my blog is for the most part funny.  I can pick fun at myself & my children, because if you are laughing at me & not with me, I don't know.

I also think it has a lot to do with self-esteem.  When I was younger, I was very aware of the things I did, so that I wouldn't be laughed at, but the older I got the less I cared about what other people thought about me.  Now I kind of have to reign myself in as to not embarrass my children.

Luckily my children can go to a school where bullying/picking on/laughing at is not really a problem; unlike the school I attended. And I'll admit I have laughed at others myself.  The only real bullying they have to deal with is between their siblings & that is just unavoidable.
****************************
What do you think about the fear of laughter? Have you had any experiences like this? Don't forget to stop by Confessions of a Semi-Slacker Mom's blog and hang out for awhile.

Next week, I'm taking a break from the regular old poop and spending the week honoring Special Needs. I've lined up some fabulous guests, some you know and some you've never met, and I'm really excited to be doing it. I hope you'll come around and check it out.

Pixar's First Female Director

Pixar has announced it's first female director Brenda Chapman. She will be directing the movie Brave, due in June 2012. Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, and Julie Walters are all expected to provide voices for the film. The story follows Merida, a Scottish princess with a love of archery. The film is set in Edinburgh, Scotland. When I went to the Edinburgh Film Festival to see Toy Story 3, the animators spoke about the film.

Chapman was the first American woman to direct an animated film. The film was The Prince of Egypt (1998).

She's also been a writer for major Disney films such as Beauty and the Beast (1991) and the Lion King (1994).

Water for Elephants

Spotted: Rob Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon on the set of Water for Elephants. It's set to hit theaters April 15, 2011. It's directed by Francis Lawrence who also directed Constantine and I Am Legend. Here are some "TwitPics" from the @H2OforElephants profile.

Katy Perry, Sesame Street, The Simpsons

Ok, I know that TV shows aren't technically the topic of this blog, but this has been blowing up in tons of publications so I thought I'd post about it. As many of you already know, Katy Perry was kicked off Sesame Street for her indecent attire. My personal favorite is when she's running down the street...enjoy Little Johnny. The best comment I've seen has been "wow, this is offensive, Elmo's completely naked and indecently exposed to my children!" I think she could have picked some better attire, but what do you think?

For those Perry fans, never fear, The Simpsons have taken her in. She will be appearing in a Christmas-themed episode. The episode will be a live action segment where the Simpsons characters will appear as puppets. She will lead the gang in a rendition of "The 39 Days of Christmas" and will play Moe's girlfriend! Leaving poor Elmo in the dust, who's "Hot N Cold" now?
