2.28 song of the day

Because, while no, I have not yet resorted back to guns from having the lack of funds, but I imagine that when I do, um, I will need to keep this important lesson toward the front of my mind.

PINT: Dinner & a Movie

Only Parent Chronicles

Natalie Portman to potentially play Kate Middleton in new film?

Not really, I just think they look alike in these photos. Both dresses have same shade of blue with similar cuts. Both are engaged. Both are perfect. What's not to love? If you'd like me to storyboard the plot, I would have no problems attending the royal wedding. And if Oscar de la Renta wants to design me a gown for the occasion, again, it wouldn't be a problem. Thoughts?

‎2.27 song of the day *lost in the Magnanimousness special*

Because comparing me to Colin Firth is like comparing Warren Beatty's ability to close to Mike the Situation's. Yet he gets to go to bed with a gold man. It breaks my heart wide open.

My pick for Best Song: 'Tangled' - 'I See The Light'

If you read any of last night's Oscars' commentary, you would have heard me rambling about the song from the Disney movie Tangled. Here is the video of the song. It's sung by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi (the voices of Rapunzel and Flynn). What do you think? I personally loved Tangled and thought the music worked really well.

Dragonfly is the insect order Odonata, suborder Epiprocta or real sense, infra-order Anisoptera. It is characterized in terms of large eyes, two pairs of strong transparent wings, and elongated body. Dragonflies have six feet (and other insects), but most dragonflies can not walk properly. Dragonflies are the fastest in the world of insects. Dragonfly has many types, the dragonfly has a size, shape and color of a diverse.

Dragonflies are predators that eat mosquito securities, and other small insects like flies, bees, ants, butterflies and rare. They are usually found around lakes, ponds, streams and wetlands because dragonflies lay their eggs in or near water. After spawning, some species of diving all the way to lay their eggs on the surface is good. Then, the eggs hatch and the "nymphs". Most of the past life in the form of dragonfly nymphs, below the water surface, using the jaws extended to take other invertebrates (such as fish and tadpoles and mosquito larvae). They breathe through gills in the anus, and quick to push with a sudden release of water through the anus. Some nymphs even hunt on land.

A large dragonfly larvae stage can last five years. The smaller species, this phase can last two or three years. When larvae are ready to become an adult, went on a cane or other crops show. Exposure to air causes the larvae begin to breathe. The skin is divided into a weakness in the back of the head and the adult dragonfly strip out of her old skin, the larvae, pumps its wings and flies to feed the mosquitoes and flies. adult dragonfly flight goes in six directions, upward, downward, forward, backward and sideways. adult stage, larger species of dragonfly can take five or six months.

If I could start my blog all over again, I would make two major changes.

1.       I would have a clear direction. When I first started blogging two years ago, I started because I wanted to write. While one of the best reasons to start a blog, it didn’t help much with the actual business of running a blog. Two years later, a new URL, and thousands of hours reading blogs, I can say I finally have a direction I am heading towards.
2.       I would have done a lot more research into blog design and taken the time to create a professional layout from the beginning. When I first started blogging, I began with a free template and no graphics to separate my blog from the pack. Over the last two years, I have tried to learn a lot about blog design. I have not hired anyone to create the blog design for me. I have done it all myself. It has been an experience that isn’t for the faint of heart, but rewarding. I can make changes when I want to and not on someone else’s time table.

The best advice I can give to bloggers out there is to read, read, read. While you are reading, don’t forget to look at the organization and layout of your favorite blogs. There is a reason the successful blogs are successful. Take the time and learn from them.

Oscars Coverage Part 16: Anne Hathaway

In my final Oscars' post, I'd like to make a big shout out to Anne Hathaway, who was not only a hilarious host, but stunning in her eight outfits this evening. You're by far my best dressed!

Oscars Coverage Part 15

I want Black Swan to win Best Picture more than anything, but since I've given into the fact that it won't, I'm rooting for The Social Network or Inception. I know that a ton of people loved The King's Speech, but I found it to be a very slow-paced film, unworthy of the fame it's received.

And why does The King's Speech get to narrate the montage?!? That's basically confirming that it will definitely win. NOOOOOOO WHY WHY WHY WHYYY!?!?!?!

The Academy has screwed me over several years in a row now. So forget it. Darren, Natalie, Mila: your film was incredible. One of the best I've seen in the last 10 years. You were robbed.

Don't try to win me back over with singing 5th graders Academy, we're through.

Oscars Coverage Part 14

Sandra Bullock is perfect. "Jeff [Bridges], dude, you won this award last year...don't you think that once is enough? Give someone else a shot."

I just pray that Jesse will win, but Colin Firth is everyone's pick. And there he goes. This is a situation like I mentioned before where the same person continuously wins and I get annoyed. Colin is SO British. And it's excellent. I thought he should have beaten Jeff Bridges last year for his role in Tom Ford's A Single Man. Well it's a year too late, but congrats Colin!

Oscars Coverage Part 13

Jennifer Lawrence was humiliated by how unattractive she came off in her clip from Winter's Bone. Natalie Portman is amazing. Though I normally get annoyed when one person continuously wins awards, Natalie is incredible and so deserving. Her cute little fiance and Black Swan choreographer was adorable when he helped her up the stairs. Of course she cried...she's pregnant. However, no pregnant woman has grossed me out less.

When she mentioned her most important role coming up as a mom, it was absolutely adorable.

Oscars Coverage Part 12

Kathryn Bigalow's dress is one of the most hideous things I've ever seen, especially next to Hillary Swank's gorgeous gown.

Darren, you were robbed. Tom Hopper, I get it. The Queen endorsed you. But Honest | Unmerciful endorses Black Swan. So I would like to present my Rachel Award to Darren Aronofsky as Best Director in Black Swan.

Oscars Coverage Part 11

"Winter's Bone, Rabbit Hole, How to Train Your Dragon...that's disgusting." — James Franco on how inappropriate titles have been this year.

Though it was a very inspirational song in the context of the film, "If I Rise" from 127 Hours is too mellow for Best Song. I didn't see Country Strong, but I think it had some better songs than this one.

Please let Tangled win!!!! Fail.

Oscars Coverage Part 10

WHY CAN'T BLACK SWAN WIN ANYTHINGGG?!?! Yes, The Social Network was good, but Black Swan was such a masterfully crafted film that it deserves much more than it has received. I think the Academy should consider the fact that Natalie Portman would have no qualms about stabbing them with a piece of mirror.

Oscars Coverage Part 9

BAHAHAHA "Whoa! Should have got a hair cut!" — Large white afro-wearing man who won Best Live Action Short.

The autotune versions of Harry Potter, Toy Story 3, The Social Network and Twilight ("He Doesn't Own a Shirt") were excellent. So far I'm a fan of Anne Hathaway and James Franco as the hosts.

Why is Oprah there? The only documentary I really know about is Exit Through the Gift Shop about the graffiti artist Banksy. And it didn't win...not that Banksy would have been there to accept the award.

Though Billy Crystal looks like he's had some facial work done, he's just as funny as ever.

While I wasn't the biggest fan of Sherlock Holmes, I loved Robert Downey Jr. in Due Date and found that my own personality is quite similar to his.

Once again, congrats to Inception for getting the recognition it deserves!

Oscars Coverage Part 8

Cate Blanchett's dress is ugly, but when she shuddered and said "that's gross" after they showed the footage from The Wolfman, she won me over. Who knew that The Wolfman could ever win anything?

Any Tim Burton film that doesn't win Best Costume Design has been robbed. Tim Burton is a visionary and with one of the most quirky women in the business. Unfortunately, the costume designer had one of the most boring acceptance speeches I've ever witnessed. She read off a shaking piece of paper the entire time. I forgot that Anne Hathaway was in Alice in Wonderland for a hot second.

I liked the montage of favorite Best Original Songs. Barack Obama WOULD pick the classiest song out there from Casablanca.

I really liked "At Last I See the Light" from Tangled, it's so superior to the predicted winner "If I Rise" from 127 Hours.

Tax Dollar

Last night I wore a new dress, kindly sent to my by POLYGON. I'm in love with the freaky hippie pattern, but the flattering cut makes it perfect for serious booty shakin'. It's very "Woodstock Goes To The Bar". If it was a perfume, it would smell like patchouli musk with notes of gin and whisky sour. The ruffles are so perfect they deserve a close-up, but you haven't even seen the best part yet...
Peekaboo! My tattoos!

Oscars Coverage Part 7

"He's once again the wolver to my rine." — Anne Hathaway on Hugh Jackman

Of course they had to put the two Aussies together to present. I'd really like for The Social Network or Inception to win Best Original Score. Inception was definitely the more dramatic, but both were very specific to the films. I'm ok with The Social Network winning, except for the fact that when the first composer accepted the award he said "wow, is this real?" Well yes, yes it is.

Here's the thing, I hate Scarlett Johansson, but her dress is gorgeous. Fine. I said it. Matthew McConaughey is no longer attractive. He is too thin and too orange for any woman.

Inception definitely deserved to win in both of these sound categories. Though everyone always comments on its visuals, Inception is really a complete package of sound, editing and cinematography.

Oscars Coverage Part 6

Reese Witherspoon looks very Elle Woods tonight, elegant but never understated.

Though Christian Bale isn't my favorite actor, he really did do a great job in The Fighter. Everyone expects him to win though, so I'm kinda rooting for Geoffrey Rush. Who knew that Christian Bale was British?!? Well...everyone watching the Oscars does now at least.

Bale, stop stuttering. That's not The Fighter, that's The King's Speech. Also, you should probably remember your wife's name...just saying.

Oscars Coverage Part 5

Anne Hathaway is a goddess. Her rendition of "On My Own" from Les Miserables to Hugh Jackman was excellent. James Franco loves drag. I don't understand why he doesn't give up being a man all together.

Russell Brand and Helen Mirren work well together. While she spoke in French, he translated:

"What Helen said was: 'yo, my Oscar winning performance as a Queen was much better than Colin Firth's as a King.' " — Russell Brand

Unfortunately I didn't see any of the nominees for Best Foreign Film, but Denmark seems like a nice place so good for them.

Oscars Coverage Part 4

If The Social Network doesn't win for Best Adapted Screenplay, there's not justice in the world. And it wonnnn!!!! Aaron Sorkin is kind of a genius. This movie definitely has a way with words.

"Roxie Sorkin your Dad just won an Academy Award, I'm going to have to insist on some respect from your guinea pig." — Aaron Sorkin

So The King's Speech won Best Original Screenplay...."t-t-thank you t-t-t-ooo the A-A-Academy."

"I think I am the oldest person to win this award. I hope that that record is broken quickly, and often." — David Seidler

Oscars Coverage Part 3

No one cares about animated shorts and the only one I'd seen was Day & Night that came out before Toy Story 3....so no comment. For Best Animated Picture I love Toy Story 3, but I really felt like How to Train Your Dragon was a more original film. Here's my issue with Toy Story 3 winning: if Toy Story 3 is nominated for Best Picture as well, isn't it clear that it will definitely win the Best Animated Picture? The same thing happened last year with Up. Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Princess and the Frog didn't have a chance! Rant over.

Oscars Coverage Part 2

Kirk Douglas is hilarious. Like not in a make-fun-of-his-old-age way but in a legitimately funny way.

"[To Anne Hathaway] Why weren't you around when I was making pictures?" — Kirk Douglas

"Hugh Jackman is laughing...I don't know why everyone in Australia thinks I'm funny. Colin Firth is not laughing....he's British." — Kirk Douglas

Helena Bonham Carter is a perfect specimen. End of story. However, I want Melissa Leo to win. I've seen all of the movies except for Animal Kingdom in this category. Watching the nominees for Best Supporting Actress sitting there waiting as Kirk Douglas slowly his stroke was hilarious. And it's Melissa Leo!!!! Thank goodness that obnoxious girl from True Grit didn't get anything.

"You're much more beautiful than you were in The Fighter" — Kirk Douglas
"Hey you're pretty good looking yourself, what are you doing later?" — Melissa Leo

Oscars Coverage Part 1

I love Anne Hathaway and James Franco. Their opening montage delved into the Best Picture series...well into the ones that have a shot.

P.S. Anne Hathaway is hilarious.

"It used to be, you get naked, you get nominated." — Anne Hathaway
"It's been a great year for lesbians." — Anne Hathaway
"I just saw Markie Mark!" — James Franco's grandma

I LOVE TIM BURTONNNN!!! Though I wouldn't have been upset if Harry Potter or Inception had won.

I basically want Black Swan to win everything. So if for some reason, you're not the brightest in the bunch and you don't think Black Swan is anything special, you probably shouldn't be reading this thread.
