Guilin Reed Flute Cave, Lu Di Yan, Guangxi

With its location five kilometers northwest of the downtown of Guilin, the Reed Flute Cave is a brilliant cave marked on almost all travel itineraries. The cave got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it, with which people make flutes. Inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition.

First 'Dark Shadows' Image Revealed

A Tim Burton movie starring Johnny Depp? Shocking. Oh and there's Helena Bonham Carter. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But I'd really like to see Burton do something original. Dark Shadows the movie is based off the popular TV show from the late '60s.

Burton's version will star Depp, Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green (who look just like Evan Rachael Wood in this picture), Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Lee.

The story follows the 200-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins (Depp) as he encounters other monsters. I'm sure Burton's version will be a festival of gothic proportions and though it's not anything new, I'm still excited to see it. It's set to come out May 11, 2012. Will you go see it?

First 'Iron Lady' Poster

So cool! Meryl Streep's next film, Oscar darling The Iron Lady, is set to come out December 16. Streep plays Margaret Thatcher, former prime minister of the United Kingdom. It is directed by Phyllida Lloyd who directed 2008's Mamma Mia (also starring Streep). I'm excited for this film, but after last winter's The King's Speech, I'm not getting my hopes up. I know that it was a good movie, but I never felt like it lived up to the hype it received. What do you guys think? Will Meryl's film be a hit?

'J.Edgar' Trailer

I've always said that J. Edgar Hoover was one of my favorite dead people. Yes, he was considered evil and corrupt, but he had all the dirt on everyone and that's true power. That's why he fascinated me growing up. Leonardo DiCaprio also fascinated me growing up, but in a first celebrity crush sort of way. Today the two combine to make what will hopefully be a great film. It definitely seems like a possibility from this trailer. The movie is set to come out November 9, will you go see it?

Connie Britton somehow looks less than perfect.
But next to Marisa Miller I'm afraid, so too would fist full of diamonds.

‎9.16 song of the day

There's, ahem, an old joke by Bill Hicks about wanting his Rockstars dead.

Close enough, I say.

'Olivia Twisted' to Star Ashley Greene

In this gothic, "twisted" version of Oliver Twist, Ashley Greene will star as Olivia Twisted, a 19-year-old heroine who leads a gang of orphans. They embark on what's supposed to be a kidnapping and end up getting thrown in the middle of a war between to gangs.

There's no official director yet, but The Social Network's Michael De Luca is currently in charge of the project. Greene's only major role thus far has been as Alice Cullen in the Twilight films, so hopefully she can pull out a great performance and not just another gothic, sci-fi extravaganza. The film is supposed to come out next year, which coincidentally is the bicentennial of Dicken's birth.

'The Book of Mormon' Movie

This year's Broadway hit was The Book of Mormon, winning nine Tony Awards including Best Musical. The musical was created by South Park veterans Trey Parker and Matt Stone and follows two Mormon missionaries to Uganda as they try to witness to the people there. Though I try to visit New York every summer to see musicals, I didn't make it to this one.

Despite its hype and fame, I was nervous to watch something that would probably make fun of the Mormon way of life having several close Mormon friends myself. Though I haven't heard any public outrage over the musical's content, it still gives me a moment's pause to think that they're making it into a movie. To me that takes it a step away from the stage and a step closer to South Park...a step I've never wanted to take. Parker and Stone wrote the musical with Robert Lopez (Avenue Q) and might involve producer Scott Rudin (The Social Network) in the production of this film.

"The great thing is, a lot of Broadway teams would have to go team up with a Hollywood producer and bring on a Hollywood director, but Trey’s a director and Scott’s a great producer. We’ve all made movies. So it’s kind of cool, it can stay in the same family,” Stone said to Entertainment Weekly.

What do you guys think? Inappropriate? Or great comedy? Will you go see the film?

J.J. Abrams to Direct 'Star Trek' Sequel

Now here's a sequel I don't mind. When J.J. Abrams' Star Trek first came out Summer 2009, I fought hard not to have to see it. But with former Trekkies for parents, it wasn't an easy battle and eventually I gave in. Having never seen Lost before, this was my first introduction to Abrams' directing and I was pretty impressed. The story was interesting and kept me engaged throughout the entire film. The characters were well-developed and luckily will all be returning for the second installment.

This will be Abrams' first directing job since this summer's blockbuster, Super 8. It's set to come out sometime in 2012. No plot details have been released at this time. What about you guys? Will you go see it?

Offiical 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' Trailer

Forget these teasers. Finally we have the real thing. It indicates that we will get to see the creepy vampire baby eat its way out of Bella Swan, and for that, I am grateful. As per usual, Bella's "charm" somehow still attracts both Edward and Jacob and somehow Jacob doesn't seem to understand that she's totally not interested. I know that I'm not Twilight's biggest fan, but I can't wait to see this movie. I haven't seen a good comedy since Bridesmaids. November 18, 2011.

Behind-the-Scenes Pictures from 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2'

It's been almost two months since the final Harry Potter film premiered in the U.S. and it almost seems like something's been missing in my life. Until the DVD comes out sometime in November, I must content my self with these behind-the-scenes images. I never truly grasped how challenging it must have been to point a stick at a green screen and pretend like you're performing magic.
