Don't panic, Ed (who plays Chuck on Gossip Girl) doesn't play Romeo to Hailee's Juliet. Instead he will be her prideful cousin Tybalt. No word yet on who will be Hailee's Romeo. The casting of 14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld (a recent Oscar nominee for her role in True Grit) is unusually accurate with Shakespeare's original character of Juliet who was supposed to be of the same age. 
Usually the role is played by an older, more mature actress and includes several "scenes of passion." Director Carlo Carlei recently commented that Ms. Steinfeld won't be physically exposed or participate in any sexual scenes so parents' associations everywhere can rest easy.
Holly Hunter is set to play Juliet's nurse, which is usually played by a much older actress. I'll be interested to see her take on a role that's usually very matronly. It'll be pretty hard to beat the Leonardo DiCaprio/Claire Danes Romeo + Juliet, but I look forward to seeing this one. So far it's set to come out sometime next year. I'll keep you posted.
