'Page One: Inside The New York Times' Trailer
It seems to be a growing trend in the world of documentary filmmaking that some of my favorite publications are allowing behind-the-scenes looks into their innermost workings. First was Vogue with The September Issue and now it's the new documentary on The New York Times, my favorite newspaper. Though documentaries may not appeal to everyone, this film will definitely draw in professional journalists, journalism professors and most of their students. The New York Times is considered to be one of the top newspapers in the country, but it has also dealt with some serious ethical faux pas in the journalism world. Hopefully they'll touch on some of the nastier ordeals, because even professional publications have their gossip. It doesn't seem as if filmmaker Andrew Rossi was restricted or held back because the film will be rated R for language and sexual references. Who says journalists don't know how to party? The film will be released in select theaters on June 17. Will you go see it?
